LWANDA GOGWANA

Lwanda Gogwana, a distinguished jazz trumpeter originally from East London, South Africa, boasts a renowned career with a background in African musicology. He has earned a Master's degree in Jazz Theory from the University of Cape Town (UCT)

Gogwana's musical journey showcases his versatility, with two acclaimed studio albums, "Songbook Chapter 1" and "Uhadi Synth," both earning him three South African Music Awards (SAMA) nominations. His influence extends beyond the studio, actively participating in workshops and programs, including International Jazz Day 2020 and the Standard Bank National Youth Jazz Festival.

Collaborating with artists like Donald Harrison, Sibongile Khumalo, Ray Phiri, Freshlyground, and Tresor, Gogwana's trumpet skills have left an indelible mark on the South African jazz scene. His commitment to education is evident through his role in the South African Jazz and Health Alliance (SAJHA) youth jazz camp.
